| Mission: | | When CAFA, then the Cincinnati Black Firefighters Association was created, there were very few African American on the Cincinnati Fire Division. Today African Americans make up a third of the division. CAFA is proud of this accomplishment, but believes until true equality is attained its existence is necessary. Therefore our goals include: | - Increasing the number of African American officers.
- Ending discriminatory practices in the firehouses.
- Reforming Local 48 so it fairly represents African Americans.
- Keeping recruit classes at least 40% African American.
- Helping to improve the CFD.
| | Membership in CAFA is open to any member of the CFD who accepts the challenge of attaining these goals. |
