We have an on-going smoke detector installation project where we target high risk communities and donate and install smoke detectors. Sponsors include Allstate Insurance and The Cincinnati Herald. Willie Jones (pager number 691-0096) leads our Youth Development Program where CAFA members are actively involved in the mentoring of youth. Willie has established a non profit organization, Volunteers for Youth Safety to assist in promoting safety among our children. His efforts have been recognized in the Cincinnati Enquirer and nationally by the Boys & Girls Club of America.
Our members go to schools to present fire prevention information on a yearly basis and also contributes money to a variety of causes.
We are involved in such community-wide activities as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Coalition March/Program and the Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion. Our Martin Luther King Jr. Banquet is used to honor the ideals of Martin Luther King and give scholarship money to winners of our essay contest.
